Oxford Journals is the Journals Division of Oxford University Press. The Editorial department is responsible for the management, development and acquisition of journals and the commissioning of books in core areas.
As a Team Leader across both books (maths and physics) and journals lists you will be responsible for managing a dynamic, motivated team. You will also have direct list management of journals in maths and science. You will be responsible for the team reaching commissioning, quality, financial, and developmental targets. You will also liaise with other journal Team Leaders on interdisciplinary journal issues and policy, and work closely with book colleagues, maximizing the synergies between the programmes.
Conference travel will be a part of the role.
• Journals publishing experience as Editor/Publisher or higher, preferably responsible for science journals
• Books publishing experience is desirable
• Management experience
• A proven track record of successful journal acquisitions
• Good honours degree or equivalent, preferably in a science subject
• Experience of budgeting and financial planning
• Highly motivated, with initiative and confidence to work independently
• Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel
• A track record of innovative programme development
